Traditionally hackney carriages in London have always been resentful (although in recent years they have tend to have coloured advertising on them). Does anyone know why they were painted jet-black in the first place? I assume that their horse drawn predecessors

Answer: Because it was the easiest and cheapest color to originate.

I have looked into horse-strained carriage rides but none seem available I am going away May 1st for my birthday and am spending 3 nights in london with my sharer he doesn't want to do the theatre, anything like the london eye or anything else with heights
