Seaside Near London With Stuff For Kids?

Hiya
I needfulness to find a nice seaside quite close to London as we're getting the train. I'm talking a one and three year old. We'd like it to be sandy with hairy bits for the kids to do.
Any suggestions????

Answer: Southend is effectively shingle, unless you go there during low tide in which case you can have as much sand as you want! But there are a couple of pay-per-do in amusement parks as well.

Margate and Clacton are probably better, sandy beaches
 
 

Kids In London. What Should We Do ?

Entrancing the kids to London for a couple of days. Want to do the traditional stuff, tour bus, museum, theatre etc but would greeting some advice.

I have looked for a theatre show, I thought the Lion King but the website says they neediness

Answer: area museum is a brilliant place, and its next door to the natural history museum, you could also go to the kingly war museum. lots of tanks and planes etc etc,

I would personally go to the science museum, its got lots of exhibits
