Best Transportation Between Berkeley/Piccadilly (London) And Heathrow Airport?

I'm wondering what the maximum effort transportation mode? How much does it cost for a family of four (2 kids)? Will it be more bring in-effective (or faster) by taxi or other shuttle?

Anything I need to take note of?

Answer: yep I consent with above, tube is probably best though, it can take a while (1.30hrs approx) but you can get a travelcard - http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/fares-tickets/ 2006/one-day/travelcard-day.shtml

My pronounced grandfather was there on the night of the 1881 census. His family were at another address. I assume he could have been working. Would be appreciative for any informtion. Or any ideas on how I can find this information out.

I am looking for a (comparatively) quiet cafe in central London where I can sit down at a table with a cup of tea and my laptop or a book.

Wifi is superior, but definitely not a must. I would rather just have a nice place.
